Crazy Dreams

When you hear people talk about pregnancy, you know about the common side effects of morning sickness, fatigue, hightened sense of smell and cravings.  What I have never heard anyone talk about before was the CRAZINESS of dreams that pregnancy can induce.  So in order to help me remember some of the hilarity (is that a word???) I have decided to blog about it.  And perhaps someone who may stumble upon this can enjoy the ridiculousness that occurs during my REM cycles!

Below are several dreams I have had, but this one is the one that tops them all.  I was getting ready for a friends wedding in Mobile, AL and I was a bridesmaid (in real life this friend is already married and i was not a bridesmaid and she got married in San Antonio.)  I showed up and all the bridesmaids were so mad at me because I did not have my hair done or my makeup on.  I got ready and we went to the church for the wedding.  As Joey and I were walking the several blocks to the reception, I spotted a note lying in the railroad tracks. I went and read the note and it was from my mom!  I turned around to find two marine biologists standing there and they led Joey and I around the corner to a giant pool that had dolphins and whales.  They said they had set it up for us to swim with dolphins!  I was soooo excited because I have ALWAYS wanted to swim with dolphins and Joey jumped straight in.  But then I realized all my friends were going to get mad at me for getting my hair and makeup wet because we still had to take wedding pictures.  As hard as it was, I turned down the opportunity to swim with the dolphins and left to go find the bride and take our pictures.  When I got to the reception it turns out she had already left to go on her honeymoon and I wasn't needed for pictures any way!  I was soooooooooo mad I didn't get to swim with dolphins.  But then I got really upset because I went to get something to eat of the food from the reception, but I couldn't eat any of it because EVERYTHING was made with either tequila or jalapenos!!! When I woke up, all I could think was, "I can't believe I missed an opportunity to swim with dolphins!"

• One night I dreamed I was being weighed and I weighed exactly 317 pounds...yes 317!  Everyone in the dream was telling me that I was doing really well, but I couldn't be convinced that this was not an abnormal weight gain for a pregnancy!
• I dreamed that some friends and I were on a boat in Dallas and there were people parachuting all around us, as soon as they would hit the water, they would take off running and run on top of the water.  They were all wearing their business clothes cause that is how they were getting to work.  I remained freaked out the entire time we were in the boat that we would run over one of the people who were coming down out of the sky, but we never did, despite the fact that there were hundreds of them.
• One dream Joey and I were out of town and I was at Walmart (ok so this was a nightmare really!) I couldn't find Joey anywhere and I became very upset because I was afraid he had either left me there or something terrible had happened to him.  I finally found him across the street playing baseball.  I couldn't tell it was him at first because he was playing catcher and was wearing a fully padded suit and mask.  Upon waking I told Joey how upset I was at him for doing such a thing, he assured me he would never leave me in real life to brave Walmart alone while he played baseball!
• One night my dream consisted of me eating an oatmeal cream pie casserole!
• In one dream I climbed in the back of a van and it started rolling off a cliff, I barely escaped by climbing out the window. 
• I dreamed that I told Nacho that I loved him he barked back, "I wovf you!"  I was so excited I couldn't wait to tell Joey and when I did Nacho did it again.  But in this dream Nacho was an old man dog, with a long white beard!
• I dreamed my sister in law and her husband were wanting to go look at a house, but it was Wednesday evening and they were going to church.  Apparently I was a heathen in my dream and didn't go to church so I offered to go look at it for them.  When I got there no one answered the door so I just walked in.  I looked around the house and then realized I was really really hungry so I went in their fridge and got some left overs out.  I was eating their macaroni and cheese and chicken nuggets when the bedroom door opened and the owners walked out.  I tried to explain to them that I normally dont bust into people's houses and eat their food when they are not home.  They weren't too upset, and showed me around the rest of the house!
• We were at a retreat center with the girls from church and we were sharing the big bathroom with a bunch of cheerleaders who left their hairspray and hair products everywhere in the bathroom and we couldn't get ready.  I went to the pastor's wife to help me handle the situation and when I found her she was eating blue sour straws, the belt like kind and when I woke up that is all I wanted.
